 Think Twice Before Acting Once

Date of Publish - Thursday, 30th May 2019

We all have brains and we all have thus a thinking ability which distinguishes us from animals or birds. We can think, ponder over conditions and situations and actually take decisions. Decision making capability of ours is what makes us all different from one another as some have higher thinking capability while some have low thinking capability. But what major issue we face is that we don’t put that decision making capability of ours to use many a times and then suffer later on. Act mindlessly, behave abnormally, and refuse to think twice before doing something and what not. All these things actually create a mess later on.

We tend to say a lot and do nothing. But sometimes it does happen that we say less and act more, maybe sometimes more impulsively and when being high on emotions. At times, it becomes really important that you actually control your emotions and act when you are moderate on them. Acting when being high can make situations go out of control.

Think twice before acting once is what the rule you must follow in order to remain happy in life. Mindless doing without thinking harms a lot, both professionally and personally. Consider a case of personal scenario wherein you get involved in a heated argument with your wife and decide to divorce her in the heat of the condition. But later realise that the fault was yours. Do you think that you would be having enough time or chances to make things the way they were before? Maybe or maybe not. It depends on the person on other side too.

And for a professional scenario, consider a situation when you end up in a brawl with your investors and direct them to leave the board of investors. Do you think that it would be beneficial to your company or business?? Not at all. This shows that sometimes what we think we are doing is not correct.

Thinking before doing is really important so that if later on situations go out of hands, you have that much faith and confidence in you that you haven’t done anything wrong. This attitude can only be achieved if you have that much confidence on what you have said, what you say and what you intend to say. Confidence on the tendency and pressure of words often determines the degree and extent to which words have been used.

Thus, moral of the story is that one needs to think twice before doing because thinking before doing ensures that you have actually thought of what might happen if things didn’t turn out the way you had thought of or what you’ll do in case things turned out to be much better than your expectations because ultimately every good and bad outcome requires equal and due attention. The next time you plan to do something, just ponder over it and then act. It would be much more helpful and advantageous in a long run. Keep thinking, keep exploring and have fun acting!
